I’d say it hels me a lot.
I ride it to school everyday.
Highly recommand.
The Currie Izip is a premium bike with upgraded components. It offers an aluminum frame to reduce weight and gives you a comfortable ride at speeds up to 15 MPH and range up to 25 miles (add a second battery pack to increase it). It also gives you the option to use with pedal assist or just twist and go for a fun ride every time.

The “AL” stands for “Aluminum” It’s a totally Hybrid electric bike and it has very high gearing for those who have the ability to peddle beond the “( 17 mph motor cut off speeds ) “Legal limit” in most states.____First gear is the “MegaGear” which is a low gear for hills, taking off, pulling cargo trailers, head winds.____2nd gear on the 2009 iZip Moutain Trailz AL Black is like the 4th gear on the heavy 2008 eZip Trailz that I use to carry extremely heavy loads with.
If you like a light weight and high geared bike and able to peddle beond the motor cut off speeds of 17+ mph then this bike is for you, But if your like me and need a bike that is able to carry heavy loads then get the 2008 eZip Trailz bike.
I will be using the 2009 iZip MT AL for just running to the bank and other places with, I may carry some light items on the bike but nothing like I do on my 2008 eZip Trailz.
The aluminum hubs the 2009 iZip MT AL has will not handle heavy loads like the 2008 eZip Trailz, The spokes will rip right out of the hubs under the same weight I carry on my 2008 eZip Trailz.
Kid Again! – Horsedogcat – Paradise, CA
Everything implied and more. Well constructed, well engineered, easily operated. Biking is fun again. Once again I can easily conquer rapid elevation gains and tricky terrain. We’re talking mountain biking here; I don’t go on roads. The bike is easy to load in the back of the pickup (sans battery), that goes on the passenger floor. As much as you can love an inanimate object, I love that bike. Though I’m 65, when I’m on that bike on a trail, I’m a kid again. Move over grandkids, here comes Grampa!
Good Workship but slow… – brandrr@live.com –
This came and I had to put the handels bars on but it was not hard…
the front wheel was also not hard to get on… I did read the book and do the
first charge of the battery the right way.. Im 240lbs, and with my first ride
I did only get to about 17 mph AT MAX, on 100% flat grounds… SO I ordered a gas
motor Kit and I am removing all the electric stuff and Now Im happy.
Bicycles are a terrific mode of transportation, but sometimes you just need a little extra push while getting around town. Enter the iZip AL Trailz men’s electric Mountain bike, which is equipped with a 450-watt DC earth magnet motor and a 24-volt rechargeable battery. The battery offers a range of 15 to 22 miles per charge, so you can make it back and forth to the grocery store several times without running low on power. And once you’re on the road, the Trailz boasts a top speed of 15 miles per hour (contingent on the rider weight)–plenty fast enough for most bike-friendly city streets. Is your work commute too far to walk but close enough that a car seems wasteful? Turn to the Trailz, which comes with a rear rack to carry groceries and other gear.

Decent bike..poor customer relations – Dumreb – Rocky Hill, CT
The bike is heavy, but works nicely. This is a good entry bike if you want to go electric. Just find someone other than Currie Technologies to deal with. You can go thru Wal-Mart. They will ship the bike to the store closest to you. Keep the carton and filler…just in case…and go thru Wal-Mart if it doesn’t work properly.
Dealing with Currie Technologies was a horror show. Twice they sent bad batteries. I had the bike for over four months before I could actually ride it. When they sent the second battery, they actually included remarks stating “Customer is a pain.”
I finally had to purchase a battery from them (at 20% off…Big Deal) just to get it on the road. They are the only company selling that specific battery, so I was stuck. The E-Zip weighs 70+ lbs. with both batteries on, so you better be pretty strong.
I have since bought a Cyclamic at 9. It is a GREAT bike (lithium battery) and I would go back to them in a heartbeat. My wife has a bike she bought from R.W Martin in Texas. It is a very good bike and they solved any problem she had over the phone; a good customer relations company.
I put a complaint in to the California Attorney-general’s Office about Currie.
